TrialAdviser aims to make it simpler to recruit for trials in Melbourne (and Australia). We are starting small and hopefully will expand as the issues are sorted out.

Overview

Research and clinical trials need volunteers to help determine the answers to specific scientific questions.

TrialAdviser has a database of registered trials, with which potential volunteers, their family members or health practitioners can query to see if they are eligible for any particular trials. Unlike other clinical trials recruitment sites, TrialAdviser aims to be very simple and only provide eligibility matching. The minimum information required will be stored to help match demographic and other characteristics required for particular trials.

Registration is available for doctors and health professionals who might wish to get more information about a trial (or trials) for their patients. Once registered, more detailed information and search options are available.

Registration is also available for sponsors (or their contract research organization representatives) or principal investigators who wish to enter details for a trial (or trials) to help patients, their families and doctors find suitable trials for them to consider. Eligibility criteria can be defined and are used in searches to match potential volunteers.

Registering trials also includes site information so potential volunteers can select the most convenient study sites to contact. Storing study initiation and recruitment completion dates helps avoid potential frustration by volunteers and study site staff.

Registration involves filling in some details, and submitting this for verification to obtain an emailed login.

Please note that when registering a trial, it is the responsibility of registering person to ensure appropriate Ethics and other regulatory approvals have been obtained. This will not be checked by TrialAdviser.
